ABOUT  THE  PROGRAM

Be a Jr. Terp Cheerleader and perform in front of thousands!!  Jr. Terps Cheerleading is a performance team comprised of participants, ages 5-18, led by the University of Maryland Cheerleaders and Head Spirit Squad Coach, Jamie Little.

No experience is necessary- NO TRYOUTS! Jr. Terps is a great opportunity for both newcomers to cheerleading and individuals involved in other types of cheer programs.  Whether you are a cheerleading rookie, or a veteran, the Jr. Terps team is a fun and exciting opportunity!  Jr. Terps is open to individuals, small groups, and teams!

The Jr. Terps Cheerleading team will learn a routine including a dance, stunt, and a cheer, and perform it at various University of Maryland sporting events.  For example, the Jr. Terps will perform at two University of Maryland football game half-times, women’s basketball game half-times, and at the University of Maryland Cheerleading Competition.

**Jr. Terps participants are guaranteed 4-5 performances at University of Maryland events (depending on Option selected). In previous years we have performed at 2 football games, 2 women's basketball games, and 1 exhibition performance at the University of Maryland Youth Halloween Cheerleading Competition. This is our plan again this year, however, dates cannot be confirmed until closer to the actual dates. For example, the Women's 2006-2007 basketball schedule will not be released until late August. Furthermore, once the schedule is available, it will take additional time to reserve a date. Dates will be released to registered participants as soon as they are available. Jr. Terps cheerleading reserves the right to adjust the practice and event schedule as necessary to accommodate the University of Maryland Sports Marketing Department, Operations and Facilities Office, and University of Maryland Ticket Office.

NEW PARTICIPANT FEES
Program Fee (Includes 5 practices, 5 performances): $150.00
Full Uniform Package (Top and Skirt) and Poms - $115.00

Total New Participant Cost: $265.00 (Registrations received on or before August 12, 2008)Total New Participant Cost for LATE Registrations: $285.00 (Registrations received on or after August 13, 2008).

*Please note that a 6.75% convenience fee will be charged by the online registration host.
**Uniforms are custom and take 6 weeks for production.  Therefore, the uniforms will not be available for the first football game performance.  All participants will be required to wear their 2008 Jr. Terps T-shirt and black shorts for the first performance.

RETURNING PARTICIPANTS
A new uniform design was selected for the 2007-2008 season.  Therefore, all returning participants from years prior to the 2007-2008 season must order a new uniform (Full uniform packages with poms and without poms are available through the online registration).  If you are registering a participant from the 2007-2008 season, PLEASE check to see if their uniform still fits BEFORE you submit your registration AND make sure that they still have both poms!  Once you register online it will be very difficult to have your information changed, so please register carefully!!  Please note, uniform tops and skirts are sold TOGETHER as a stock package, and therefore, individual pieces are more expensive when sold separately.

    UNIFORM FEES (No additional charges will be applied to returning 07-08 participants that do not need a new uniform or poms)
    Uniform Shell and Skirt together(NO poms) - $100.00
    Shell (Top) Only - $65.00
    Skirt Only - $55.00
    Poms Only - $15.00


Total Program Fee for Returning Participants: Calculations will vary depending on whether or not the participant needs a new uniform piece or poms.  (Registrations received on or after August 13, 2008 will be charged a $20.00 late fee).
