PROGRAM DETAILS:

Perform in front of thousands of fans at a University of Maryland men’s and women’s basketball game!  Participants of Jr. Terps Cheerleading will learn a routine including a dance, jump, and stunt sequence at a clinic/practice with members and coaches of the University of Maryland Spirit Squad program.  Participants will perform the routine at both a men’s and women’s basketball game!!
 

PROGRAM FEE ($50.00 for New Participants & $40.00 for Participants Returning from 2009 Football Season):

A $25.00 (or $15.00 for participants returning from the 2009 football season) non-refundable deposit must be placed online with a credit card to pre-register for the program.  The second payment of $25.00 cash must be paid at the clinic.  There is an ATM located onsite for convenience.  Program fee helps to fund the University of Maryland Spirit Squad program.

  • Opportunity to meet and learn from the University of Maryland Cheerleaders!
  • Open to ages participants from the ages of 5 to 8th grade.
  • Program open to individuals, partner stunt groups, and teams.
  • Free Jr. Terps shirt (to be worn along with black shorts for the performance).
  • Free admission for all participants to the following games.

Thursday, January 21, 2010 - Maryland Women’s Basketball vs. Miami, 7:00 PM 
Saturday, January 23, 2010 - Maryland Men’s Basketball vs.North Carolina State, 6:00 PM
 

PROGRAM REGISTRATION PROCESS:

Step #1: Click Here to register online.  Please make sure that you read this entire page of information (dates, ticket prices, etc.) BEFORE submitting your registration as refunds will not be provided.

Step #2: Download, print, complete, and sign the JR. TERPS CHEERLEADING RELEASE, INDEMNIFICATION AND MEDICAL PERMISSION FORM and the EMERGENCY INFORMATION FORM.

Step #3: Bring both forms to the clinic/practice on Sunday, January 17, 2009 from 3:00-5:30 PM in the Comcast Center Auxiliary Gym.  Participants MUST attend the practice on January 17th in order to participate at the Jr. Terps Cheerleading performances.

      Parking: The closest parking lot to the Auxiliary Gym is lot 4b.  Parking is free without a permit on Sunday’s.  Enter the Comcast Center on the ground level and the auxiliary gym is the first door on the left side.

WOMEN'S GAME DAY INFORMATION:

MEET TIME: 5:30 PM – Please be on time!  If your child is not on time, it will be assumed that they are not attending.

MEET LOCATION: Meet OUTSIDE of the Auxiliary Gym of the Comcast Center (where the clinic is held) – Please do not forget your ticket or you will not be admitted to the building.  Once everyone has arrived, the Maryland Cheerleaders will escort the participants to a practice area and the parents/guests will need to go to their seats.

WOMEN'S GAME DAY PARKING: Most parking is free for women’s basketball games.  However, there may not be parking directly next to the building.  Please allow enough time to find parking and walk to the Auxiliary Gym.

WHAT TO WEAR/BRING:

  • Jr.Terps 2010 shirt (distributed at the clinic)
  • Black Shorts
  • Red Bow
  • White no-show ankle socks
  • White cheer shoes or sneakers

TICKETS:Tickets for the WOMEN’S basketball game for parents, family and friends of the participants can be purchased for $8.00.  Details for purchasing tickets will be sent out via e-mail after registration.

WOMEN'S GAME DAY ITINERARY:
5:30 PM – Meet at outside of the Auxiliary Auxliary Gym of the Comcast Center
5:30-5:45 PM – Move to practice area, stretch
5:45-6:30 PM –Warm-up routine Walk with MD Cheerleaders to seats
7:00 PM – Game start time / Tip-off
7:45 PM (APPROXIMATELY) – Half-time performance

Immediately following the routine, the cheerleaders will be escorted back to their seats.  Once parents have checked their child out, immediately following half-time, the Jr. Terps Cheerleading staff and/or the chaperones are not longer responsible for the child for the remainder of the game.
 

MEN'S GAME DAY INFORMATION:

TICKETS: Tickets for the MEN’S basketball game for parents, family and friends of the participants can be purchased for $45.00 per ticket.  Tickets for ACC men's basketball games are rarely available to the public; therefore, seats will likely be located on the upper level of the Comcast Center.  Details for purchasing tickets will be sent out via e-mail after registration.
