2008 Maryland Cheer Camp Confirmation Letter

Thank you for registering for the 2008 Maryland Cheerleading Summer Camp!

Please note that all participants must have the following documents: "Waiver Form" and the "Safety, Health Information and Emergency Contact Form" completed and signed by a parent or guardian, and submitted on August 8th during check-in.

We are very excited to meet all of you!  We already have participants registered from all over the country to include, Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, Louisiana, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, New Mexico, South Carolina and Texas!

COMMUTER CAMPERS
Check-in for commuter campers will be held from 12:00-12:45 at the Comcast Center MAIN FLOOR.  Camp classes will start at 1:00pm.  Campers should wear comfortable work-out clothing, cheer shoes, and remember to bring a water bottle.  The practice facilities are equipped with water fountains, but it is always nice to have a water bottle.  Please note that commuter campers will not be permitted to leave the camp at any time.  Commuter campers without meals must bring food, or have a parent bring food at meal times.

RESIDENT CAMPERS/COACHES
Check-in for campers that are staying overnight will be from 11:00 am-12:45pm at CENTREVILLE HALL on NORTH CAMPUS.  Resident check-in will be at the lobby of the building and parking will be in front.  We will have assistance from campus parking to help parents with temporary parking during check-in.  A "parent permit" may be needed for temporary drop-off parking, so please see attendant upon arrival.  If participants are driving themselves, temporary parking permits covering the duration of the camp, will be available for sale for $5.00.  For directions to campus please visit: http://www.cvs.umd.edu/visit/directions.html. Please note that these directions are general directions, and therefore you will need to review the campus map to view the location of Centerville Hall at http://www.parking.umd.edu/themap/.

Please note that after dorm check-in/move-in, parents will need to escort their participant to the Comcast Center Main Floor and check-in in with the University of Maryland Cheer staff and trainer at that facility.  Parents are strongly encouraged to stay until after the opening performance by the University of Maryland Spirit Squad to hear all of the camp rules.

Resident participants are encouraged to pack snacks that do not need to be refrigerated.  The last dinner session runs until 6:30pm, and participants are often hungry once they get back to the dorm around 9:00pm.  Resident participants are also encouraged to bring games (For Example: board games if participants are interested in playing games in the dorms after classes are over in the evenings).

**PLEASE NOTE: DORM KEYS AND SWIPE CARDS FOR BUILDING ACCESS WILL BE ISSUED TO EACH CAMPER.  LOST SWIPE CARDS OR KEYS WILL COST $5.00 AND $85.00 RESPECTIVELY.  LOST KEY CHARGE WILL BE BILLED TO THE CAMPER.**
