About the 2008 Maryland Cheerleading Camp
- Open to individuals, small groups, partner stunt groups and teams! (Coaches do not have to accompany participants, but they are welcome to enroll.)
- Open to ages 5 to 18!
- Material and instruction available for ALL skill levels... beginner to elite!
- Creative new stunt transitions!
- Learn proper gymnastics technique and drills!
- Learn creative new transitional stunts!
- Learn fun dances and motion sequences!
- Team/camper bonding activities!
- Optional tumbling, stunting, dancing and jump competitions with awards!
- Spring floor for gymnastics instruction and mats for stunt instruction!
- Meet the University of Maryland cheerleaders and coaching staff!

Camp Staff
The 2008 Maryland Cheerleading Summer Camp will be directed by University of Maryland’s Competitive Cheer Head Coach, Jarnell Bonds, Competitive Cheer Assistant Coach, Carlos Munoz, Head Spirit Squad Coach, Jamie Little, and the Head Coach of Maryland’s Gymkana Troupe, Scott Welsh. Additional camp supervisors will include several fine assistant coaches from the Competitive Cheer, Spirit Squad and Gymkana programs.
The camp staff will consist of current members and alumni of the Competitive Cheer Team and Spirit Squad teams, including members of the back-to back (2006 & 2007) NCA Division I, All-girl National Championship teams!!

Camp Facilities
The 2008 Maryland Cheerleading Summer Camp will take place
in the 125 million dollar state-of-the-art Comcast Center,
which opened its doors in October 2002.
This air-conditioned practice facility is where the majority of the camp
classes will be held. Stunt classes during Maryland's camp will be held on foam
cheerleading mats to increase safety for all camp participants.
Gymnastics classes will be held in Maryland's Health and Human Performance
building, hosted and taught by Gymkana Head Coach, Scott Welsh. HHP is equipped with a full spring floor to
ensure the most enjoyable and safe tumbling experience.

Housing for resident participants and coaches will be in the Dorms. The practice facilities where participants will spend the majority of their time are air-conditioned, however, the dorms are not. |
