PROGRAM DETAILS - Cheer Day

Perform in front of thousands of fans at the University of Maryland men's basketball game against Georgia Tech!  Participants of the Cheerleading Day will learn a routine including a dance, jump, and stunt sequence at a clinic/practice with members and coaches of the University of Maryland Cheerleading program.  Participants will perform the routine in front of thousands at the basketball game.
 

PROGRAM FEE - Cheer Day

A $25.00 non-refundable deposit must be placed online with a credit card to pre-register for the program.  The second payment of $25.00 CASH must be paid at the clinic. 
 

PROGRAM FEE INCLUDES - Cheer Day

  • Clinic/practice with the University of Maryland Cheerleaders!

  • Opportunity to meet and learn from the University of Maryland Cheerleaders!
  • Open to ages participants from the ages of 6 years old to 12th grade.
  • Program open to individuals, partner stunt groups, and teams.
  • Free Maryland shirt (to be worn along with black shorts or leggings for the performance).
  • Opportunity for family and friends of participants to purchase discount tickets* to the Maryland vs. Georgia Tech Basketball Game. Tickets can be purchased at the clinic for $25.00.
  • Participant admission is included in the program price.

PROGRAM REGISTRATION PROCESS - Cheer Day

Step #1: CLICK HERE to register online.  Please make sure that you read this entire page of information (dates, ticket prices, etc.) BEFORE submitting your registration.  All participants MUST have health insurance in order to register and participate.  All participants must have an adult chaperone during game day (adult should be a parent, team chaperone, or coach).  All fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.

Step #2: Download, print, complete, and sign the UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND CHEERLEADING CLINIC, GAME DAY, & EVENT WAIVER FORM.

Step #3: Bring the waiver form and the second payment of $25.00 CASH to the clinic/practice on Sunday, December 11, 2011, from 4:00-6:30 PM. The clinic will be held in the Comcast Center Pavilion (auxiliary gym located on the lower level of the Comcast Center) at the University of Maryland.

    PARKING:  The closest parking lot to the Auxiliary Gym is lot 4b.  Parking is free without a permit after 4 pm on weekdays.  Enter the Comcast Center on the ground level and the auxiliary gym (Pavilion) is the first door on the left side.

STUNTING DISCLOSURE: Participants are only guaranteed to perform in their desired stunt position and stunt difficulty level if they come with their own stunt group.  For example, for the safety of the participants, flyers will be assigned to a group based on the size and skill level of the participants available.  If bases of adequate size are not available, the participant is not guaranteed to fly during the clinic; they may be taught to base.  Participants are encouraged to register with a stunt group for optimal safety and success.  Participants will perform stunts in the on grass during game day and on artificial turf during the clinic.
 

GAME DAY INFORMATION - Cheer Day

GAME DAY MEET TIME: 1 and 1/2 hours prior to tip-off.  Please be on time!  If you are not on time, it will be assumed that you are not attending.  Please allow extra time for traffic as the campus is very congested on game day.

MEET LOCATION: Outside of the Comcast Center Pavilion (auxiliary gym located on the lower level of the Comcast Center) at the University of Maryland.  Bring your ticket to get in the building!!


WHAT TO WEAR/BRING:

  • Maryland shirt (distributed at the clinic)
  • Black shorts
  • Red Bow (distributed at clinic)
  • White no-show ankle socks
  • White cheer shoes or sneakers
  • Cash for concession snacks or souvenirs
  • Ticket to the game – tickets will be distributed at clinic check-in
  • Please do NOT bring a large book bags or gym bags.  Large bags will not be allowed in to the stadium.

GAME DAY ITINERARY:

    2:30 pm - (1 and 1/2 hours prior to tip-off) – Meet at the Comcast Pavilion (auxiliary gym on the lower level)
     

    2:30 pm - 3:15 pm – Stretch and warm-up routine
     

    3:15 pm - 3:30 pm – Dismissal (coaches/parents/chaperones will escort participants into the stadium)
     

    4:00 pm – Game start time
     

    Approximately 1 hour after tip-off – Half-time performance
     

    Immediately following the routine, the cheerleaders will be escorted back to their seats.  Immediately following half-time, the parents, coach and/or chaperones are responsible for the cheerleader for the remainder of the game.  Participants are permitted to leave immediately following half-time.
